Recent Information Come to Light Concerning the Finding of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains

New information has come to light regarding the tragic demises of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report citing a family associate, a massage therapist scheduled for an session initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the home. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

After gaining access to the house, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant challenged several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

The source also disputed circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to accounts of alleged "erratic" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
