Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the United States has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
