Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
