Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are demanding that a person who leaped a fence and seized the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A circulating footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "free after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was due to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram account includes recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user questioned.

Followers Voice Worry Over the Star's Well-being

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote a further comment on Instagram.

A number of supporters also faulted security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals demanded social media platforms to block Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande looked startled when she was grabbed by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had assembled in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-part version of the acclaimed theatrical show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely bond between two very different sorceresses.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and scored a dozen award recognitions, securing two for best costume and artistic direction.
