Ex- BBC Consultants Participate in MPs' Inquiry Following Allegations of Bias in Unauthorized Memorandum
We begin with queries from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who leads the group.
She commences by giving details to the disclosed memorandum written by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.
"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting toward one side or the other, I just want it neutral, impartial and just," he states.
When asked whether he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, Prescott answers: "Absolutely not. To be clear, a great deal the BBC does is exceptional - encompassing factual and non-factual content."
Nevertheless, he states: "There is real work that requires attention at the BBC."
Another previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation adviser questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, states she regards the BBC very seriously and that it has a "continuous process and active debate" regarding fluid and multifaceted issues.
"Was the BBC ready to engage in a genuine dialogue and exchange and implement changes?" she asks herself. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
